About Us
Hi, Iām Lily Jones!
I am the artist behind Creative Grounds, here is a little bit about me.
Growing up, I would not have considered myself an artistic kid. I never had confidence in my own abilities and it was not until the end of high school, in my ceramics class, that I found an art practice that made an impact on me. Moving forward, I enrolled at SUNY New Paltz and had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I took a printmaking course and at the end my professor asked if I would like to apply for the BFA program. I applied, got in, and graduated with a BFA in printmaking and minor in art history in 2020. During my studies I was so fascinated with the history behind artwork and learning how to analyze work through a historical lens. I feel so grateful for my education as it has forever impacted my appreciation for artists and the endless different art mediums.
In 2025, I went back to school to get my Masters degree in Art Education at SUNY Oswego. I wanted to make an impact on my community through teaching. I was energized working in the classroom every day, teaching my students different outlets of expression and communication through art. While working with my mentor teacher, Brooke Morse who runs her own ceramic studio, my passion to create art professionally was reignited. Creative Grounds Studio was born and has given me an outlet to share and explore my art making with a new community. I am so excited to share this journey with you all!
Thank you for all your support!
